Transfer news LIVE: Neymar to Barcelona boost, Liverpool decision, Real Madrid swap plot
LIVE news transfer: Saturday, August 17
Transfer news is coming worldwide with a little more than two weeks before the window closes in Europe
Barcelona has seen its chances of landing Neymar improve with Philippe Coutinho on his way to Bayern Munich
Liverpool decided not to sanction an exit by not having received a satisfactory offer from the Roma chiefs
Real Madrid could include some players in the mix to beat the archrivals of Barcelona to an agreement by Neymar
UPDATE: Tuchel in Neymar
The Paris Saint-Germain manager, Thomas Tuchel, remains interested in keeping Neymar linked to Barcelona.
He said: “There is no solution at this time, but our relationship is the same because it is something between him and the club,” he said at a press conference.
“If there is no solution, he will stay with us.
“He has three years in his contract.
“When I think of a strong team, I think of a team with Neymar.”

UPDATE: Neymar out
Neymar has been left out of the Paris Saint-Germain team to face Rennes tomorrow (8pm).
The 27-year-old forward missed the triumph over Nimes last Sunday when fans raised a banner that showed his feelings towards the abandoned Brazilian.
PSG’s sports director, Leonardo, had also hinted before the game that Neymar was getting closer to sealing an exit.
Thomas Tuchel says that Neymar is not yet completely fit and “will not be with us.”
UPDATE: agreement with Arsenal backed
Former Arsenal star Robin van Persie praised the acquisition of David Luiz by the Chelsea Gunners.
“I really like it,” said Van Persie. “He takes risks; sometimes I guess he’s a central or a midfielder. I’m not really sure.”

“But I would always choose to play it in any position. You have so many centrals and believe. He looks for those passes, he’s happy, he’s fit. I’m a fan of him. I think he brings a lot to this club.”
Luiz joined Arsenal for £ 8 million and the central veteran made his Arsenal debut when the Unai Emery side faced Burnley in the Emirates on Saturday.
UPDATE: Tottenham transfer concern
Tottenham star Christian Eriksen will only attract more suitors if he stars against Manchester City, says former Premier League star Craig Burley.
“[Mauricio Pochettino] has been a bit shy about it in his press conferences,” Burley said, when he argued that Eriksen missed the recent victory over Aston Villa.

“He said it’s not about contracts, [saying]:” I don’t care if you’re five years old or whatever, it’s about performances. “
“Now, if Daniel Levy decides to sell it, then Pochettino can’t do anything about it. He needs to get results.”
“Putting Christian Eriksen in the shop window if he plays against Man City and possibly gets a couple of goals will only increase the pressure of other clubs that want to take him.”

UPDATE: the Barcelona agreement impacts Liverpool payment
Moving Philippe Coutinho to Bayern Munich will allow Barcelona to avoid paying Liverpool out of pocket for the Brazilian.
Bayern will deliver around £ 18 million (€ 20 million) to Barcelona to take Coutinho to Bavaria on a temporary basis.

And Sport says that this is the amount that Barcelona still owes Liverpool for Coutinho, who traded Anfield for Camp Nou last January.
Coutinho will remain an asset of Barcelona, but Bayern will have the option of making its move to Germany permanent.
