Real Madrid were close to Neymar transfer – but PSG star has now made Barcelona confession

REAL MADRID was close to signing Neymar of the PSG and under the noses of Barcelona a few days ago, according to reports.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are competing to attract Neymar away from the PSG, with the inflexible Samba star in which his future is far from the Parc des Princes.

The Brazilian international has had enough of life in France just two years after moving to the capital.

Barcelona is considered a leader in the race for signing Neymar but, despite that, the Catalan newspaper Sport said that Real Madrid was close to signing the player just a few days ago.

Publicly, Los Blancos have always sworn that it has never been so.

But the report says that Florentino Pérez was very close to capturing Neymar and simply said otherwise to avoid any shame.

It is claimed that Neymar decided not to join the Real because he has a firm heart on his return to Barcelona.

And, according to reports, the Brazilian international has confessed to his intimate circle, and to the members of the Barcelona team, that an agreement is in sight.

Barça and PSG have held talks about a transfer in recent days and there is a feeling that the situation is evolving.

It is said that the president of Real Madrid, Pérez, is still hoping to make Neymar his great summer galactic signing.

But with Neymar so eager to turn red and blue in Catalonia once again, it seems that the situation is slipping away.

The player himself is supposedly delighted that Barcelona has been pressing to land him.

However, if they can get the PSG to give up given the tense relationship between the two clubs is something only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Marseille coach Andre Villas-Boas believes that Neymar’s move to PSG in 2017 has damaged his hopes of being on the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

“He is an important player in the world of football,” he said.

“For me, it was the player who could succeed Ronaldo and Messi for the Golden Ball.

“But he did not recover all the qualities he had shown in Barcelona.

“For Ligue 1, it’s not good if he leaves.

“This type of player has an important image in football, a bit like when Ronaldinho was here in Paris.”

“There is this attraction, the football world wants to see these types of players. I don’t know what will happen, I can’t comment on the separation because I’m not the PSG coach.”
