David Beckham opens talks with Lionel Messi over huge MLS move for Barcelona star

David Beckham’s franchise in MLS, Inter Miami, will enter the league next season and football legend identified Lionel Messi as an important signing.

David Beckham wants Lionel Messi to join his new Major League Soccer (MLS) Inter Miami franchise.

The Florida-based team will enter the MLS in the 2020 season, which begins in March next year.

But the report indicates that the MLS “will surely be a destination at some point” for the striker.

Miami has a large Hispanic community and is closer to the hometown of Messi, Rosario, both seen as a draw for the superstar.

Unlike other professional American leagues, there is no salary cap in the MLS that makes Messi’s income capacity huge in the world’s mall.

Messi currently earns about £ 500,000 per week at Camp Nou, but it is unknown how much Inter Miami could offer.

Beckham is open to sharing Messi with another European club during the low season, from November to February, as is the relationship he shared with AC Milan while he was at LA Galaxy.
